In 2015, SVBC partnered with other churches and organisations in order to take the gospel into the city of Swansea. For four days in August, a partnership of Christians from collected churches and organisations in Swansea, the Swansea Valley and South Wales hosted Shine at St Helen’s Rugby Ground with the simple aim of taking the good news of Jesus to the people of Swansea.

In August 2016, we did it all over again, with more churches involved, more volunteers, and more people attending than the previous year! We had a great time with Daniel Kolenda of Christ for all Nations speaking on the first two evenings, and Marlene Klepees joining us for the last two evenings.

Each year there has been a comprehensive programme of events to meet as many people as possible and deliver the good news of the Gospel to them in a way that they can relate to and understand. 2017 promises to be no different and in fact will push us further than we’ve been before!

This is a massive undertaking. You may feel that you’d like to join in and help out in one of many different ways, from face-painting to stewarding, from street evangelism to flipping burgers; we need as many helpers as we can get. If you’d like to sign-up then fill in the form on the Shine website.

You may live miles away but feel that you want to commit to pray for Shine. That’s awesome! We can send you regular updates and details of prayer needs. This kind of thing will only work if we have people offering it up to God all the time! You can sign up for our prayer letter on the Shine website.

Plans are underway for Shine 2017. For full details and up to date information, check out the website at
