Working out who you are
Encounter is a youth group for secondary school and college age young people. It exists as a place for them to escape the pressures they come across in their school life and connect as a group to hang out and have fun in a safe place. Encounter is a place where anyone can join in, whether loud or quiet, just starting out at secondary school or ready to move on to college, and feel valued as a member of a group where they can feel safe and have fun.
Encounter also covers the teachings of Jesus in the Gospels and how they can be applied to their lives, in school, at home, with friends and personally. Not everyone in Encounter comes to church, so there is no expectation beyond simply jumping in and enjoying the evening.
Encounter meets every Friday evening at 7:30pm in the main SVBC building. For more information, please contact the church office.
